Niamh Kavanagh, who won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland in 1993 with In Your Eyes, will take to the stage again in December.
Niamh will be starring in a pantomime performance of the famous fairy tale Cinderella, which opens at Dublin’s Tivoli Theatre on Wednesday, 10th December 2014.
Niamh will be performing alongside the winner of a national talent search: the Irish Independent newspaper reports that producers are already on the hunt for a leading lady who can “shimmy and sing on stage”.
In Your Eyes, a powerful love song composed by Jimmy Walsh, won the Eurovision Song Contest of 1993, held at Millstreet, Ireland, with a total of 187 points. The song, which went on to achieve double platinum selling status, was the second of Ireland’s three consecutive Eurovision victories in the early 1990s, in a decade where the country won the contest on four occasions.
