Conchita Wurst, who represented Austria at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest, has made an appearance on this week’s Graham Norton Show.
Appearing alongside fellow guests Bear Grylls, Dawn French, Kirsten Dunst and Sam Smith, Conchita Wurst was introduced onto the show where she talked about her life before the Eurovision Song Contest as well as winning the contest and the worldwide support she has received since. Talking about the amount of support she has received since winning the Eurovision Song Contest, Conchita and Graham Norton discuss the tweet she received from the American singer Cher.
[When I found out], I was like “Are you serious?”. I mean like Cher! […] Actually I was very excited about this tweet because she gave me two bits of advice. She said “Darling, you deserve a lovelier name and a better wig”. My hairstylist was quite p*ssed!”
Conchita then went on to reveal that she received flowers from Elton John a few days after winning the contest with the message Congratulations, we love you!. Conchita also uploaded a picture of the flowers and message via her Instagram account.
Last Saturday, Conchita Wurst represented Austria at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with her song Rise like a phoenix. Conchita won the contest with a total of 290 points, bringing Austria their second ever Eurovision win.
