Tonight, the Norwegian national broadcaster NRK begins it’s search for Norway’s entry to the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest with the return of Melodi Grand Prix.
The show
Over the next three days Melodi Grand Prix will be coming to you live from the Folketeatret in Oslo. Tonight is the first of three semi-finals where 5 songs will compete. The top 3 will go through to next week’s final at Oslo Spektrum. The top 3 will be decided by a public televoting.

The Norwegian selection consists of 3 semi-finals and 1 grand final. In each semi-final 3 acts will go through to the final. The qualifiers will be selected through televoting. The final will be held on March 15th at the Oslo Spektrum.
