Emmelie de Forest, the 2013 Danish Eurovision representative has been invited to perform at the 2014 Swiss Eurovision national final on Saturday in Kreuzlingen.
Emmelie de Forest won the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with her entry Only teardrops giving Denmark its 3rd Eurovision victory and thus bringing the contest on Danish soil and Copenhagen for the 3rd time too.
ESC 2014 – Entscheidungsshow- the 2014 Swiss Eurovision national final will be held on Saturday 1 February at the Bodensee Arena in Kreuzlingen and will be hosted by Sven Epiney. The show will be aired live simultaneously on SRF 1, RTR, RSI 2, RTS 2 at 20:10 CET and will streamed live on eurovision.tv.
A total of 6 acts will be battling to represent Switzerland at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Copenhagen. Each act will sing a total of 2 songs during the gala: 1 cover song and his/her respective bidding entry. The 2014 Swiss Eurovision entry will be selected via a 50/50 jury- televoting deliberation.

Switzerland is the founder of the Eurovision Song Contest having hosted the very first contest in 1956 and namely won the event on home soil in Lugano with Lys Assia’s Refrain. Switzerland has won the contest twice in 1956 with Lys Assia and in 1988 with Celine Dion and her entry Ne Partez Pas Sans Moi.
