Engelbert Humperdinck (2012) and Olivia Newton-John (1974), who both represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest, have recorded a duet for Engelbert’s forthcoming album Engelbert calling.

This week, Olivia Newton-John has recorded her vocals for the duet with Engelbert Humperdinck in the city of Los Angeles. The duet is a cover of the 1972 Shirley Bassey song Never, never, never, however the song was originally recorded in Italian as Grande grande grande by the artist Mina in the same year.

Engelbert and Olivia are not the first former Eurovision participants to cover this single. Back in 1997, Celine Dion also recorded her own adaptation of Never, never, never with the late Luciano Pavarotti. The cover, known as I hate you then I love you, was released from her 1997 album Let’s talk about love.
