Tonight the 52nd edition of the Albanian music festival, Festivali i Këngës, the show that will selects the Albanian representative at Eurovision Song Contest kicks off.
The rehearsals for Festivali i Këngës, started in early December at the broadcaster’s studios. Meanwhile the RTSH Symphony Orchestra, consisting of more than 60 professional musicians, has moved to the event venue Pallati i Kongereseve, where the festival will be held. The final rehearsal for the first show that will take place tomorrow has just ended and everything is set for the shows. The organizers of the festival are very satisfied with everything has been done so far. They consider this year’s edition of the festival as one the best festivals in the last years.
The show
8 entries will be performed tonight. After each performance there will be a duet. Each act will also perform with past participants from Festivali i Këngës a hit song from the previous editions of the festival. The show will be hosted by Enkel Demi, accompanied by Xhesika Berberi and Marinela Meta. Bledar Sejko & Adrian Lulgjuraj, the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest representatives for Albania will open the show.

Luiz Ejlli, the Albanian representative at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest will open the first show tomorrow. Rezarta Smaja is the second participant who will be on stage. Just like last year Rezarta has a power pop rock song. Edmond Mancaku & Entela Zhula is the first participating duet of the show. Both of them have participated several times at the festival as solo singers. The third act is an interesting duet between Lindi Islami from Kosovo and Venera Lumani from FYR Macedonia. They are debuting at Festivali i Këngës with a love ballad. The next act is also a duet. Two sisters Xhejn & Enxhi Kumrija are competing for the second time with a special song at Festivali i Këngës. Renis Gjoka, is the next competing artist who will bring rock on stage. After the rock entry we will have a powerful ballad on stage sung by Blerina Braka. Hersi Matmuja, the flawless vocalist will close the first show with her pop and r&b balade.
The second show will take place on 27 December and the grand final will be held on 28 December.
