The 70’s had arrived in spectacular fashion at the 1974 contest in Brighton. ABBA brightened up the decaying seaside postcard town with their Technicolor blend of vintage yet futuristic pop. The song Waterloo won and gave Sweden it’s first ever win. With star-burst guitars and silver spangled costumes they epitomised the glam rock look so popular in the 70’s. Needless to say Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Frida would continue to explore the dizzy heights of success. The rest as they say is history. Eurovision had arrived and so had ABBA.
