The 1975 contest saw imitators to the successive crown of ABBA but it was the Dutch entry Ding Dong by Teach In that took the honours. The male members of the group took to the stage wearing last season’s Doctor Who knock off’s from the BBC costume department whilst the lead singer Getty Kaspers was a little more practical in wearing her mother’s nightdress. The song would go on to become a Eurovision kitsch classic earning its place in the contest’s history.
