Norwegian broadcaster NRK has announced the six performers of the songs in the second semi final of Melodi Grand Prix 2007, which will take place in Bodø on the 27th January.

You can find the line up of the first semi final here. The performers in the second heat are as follows:

  • Vena bailar conmigo performed by Guri Schanke
  • Better than this performed by Hazen
  • Under stjernene performed by Malin Schavenius
  • I wanna be with you performed by Andreea
  • Unbelievable performed by Amelia
  • Chicken rodeo performed by Dusty Cowshit

Of the 6, two of them – Malin and Andreea – have past MGP experience, Malin having ended last in the first round of the 2004 Melodi Grand Prix with "Sunshine", and Andreea being knocked out in the first round of Melodi Grand Prix 2005 with "Kingdom Come".

The interesting issue will be what the EBU decides to do should Dusty Cowshit (pictured above) win Melodi Grand prix. The crazy-comedy band have previously covered Carola's third placed Eurovision Song Contest entry, Framling, however theychose to do their version samba-style and recorded the video forit topless at the Lillehammer Winter Olympics in 1994, an event that was broadcast live to the nation. You can also see their performance of Norway's 1995 Eurovision Song Contest winning entry, Nocture below.

There is a strong possibility that should they win, the EBU will force them to change their name for the international competition. Last year, Silvia Night was threatened with disqualification if she performed Congratulations with an expletive in the song. If the EBU was to allow the band to perform at Eurovision with their official name, they would have to showa swear word in the song introductions and many commentators would have to announce the name and meaning in their own languages.

There will be a third semi as well, the artists to which wil be announced by NRK on Wednesday 10th January. The Norwegian final will be held in Oslo on February 10th.
