Yes its true OGAE Italy and the 3 time Sammerinese Eurovision representative Valentina Monetta and the 2013 Belgian Eurovision representative Roberto Bellarosa rocked Rome last Saturday!

Last Saturday, November 9th, OGAE Italy held its Party and Second Convention in Rome, at the Hotel Eurostar Roma Aeterna. The guests of honor were  none other than 2 of the artists who competed in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö: Roberto Bellarosa (Belgium) and Valentina Monetta (San Marino 2012,2013, 2014)

It all started  early in the afternoon with the annual OGAE Italy meeting, followed by the  offical presentation of both Eurostars. First Roberto, then Valentina, were introduced and interviewed by the president of OGAE Italy Ms. Cristina Giuntini. Between the two interviews a short video was shown: a souvenir of Malmö composed by the organizers Stefano Porciani and Vasco Sintra. Fans attending the event got a chance to have a Q&A with both the Eurovision stars.

While Roberto and Valentina took a break, OGAE Italy members spent the second part of the afternoon playing a big Eurovision game prepared by Stefano Porciani. Four teams took the challenge: Buranovskye Babushky, Texas Lightning, Litesound and Homens da Luta. Coincidently, the four teams ended up in the same order as with their Eurovision results!

Roberto and Valentina came back for dinner, and were amazed and mesmerised  with  the special cake which had been specially baked  for them. Then it was time for singing!The first one to grace the stage  was Valentina, delivering a very classy interpretation of her hits Una giornata bellissima, L’amore verrà, The social network swing and Crisalide. Roberto was notless, setting the audience on fire with two covers: Ta main and Fairytale, plus his brand new single Suivre mon étoile and his 2013 Eurovision entry Love kills.

After the magnificent concert by Valentina and Roberto, guests were treated to a grand  Dance and Karaoke soiree. Fans and members of OGAE Italy danced away late into the night.  They were dancing ,singing and passing the  microphone from hand to hand to each another throughout the soiree.

It’s a such pity that such a great day had to end! OGAE Italy would like to thank Roberto Bellarosa and Valentina Monetta, Roberto’s parents and his manager Katia Mahieu,Valentina’s artistic director Fabrizio Raggi for attending the event. OGAE Italy have already kicked off preparation for their next year’s convention and party! FORZA OGAE ITALIA!
