Danish broadcaster, DR, have announced the names of the participants competing to represent them at the 2007 Eurovision Song Contest. esctoday.com in association with partner site esconnet.dk were present at the press conference at DR Byen in Copenhagen to bring you the live updates as the list of participants, and hosts are announced. Aud Wilken returns to the competition along with Jørgen Olsen, Me and My and Danni Elmo.

Aud Wilken returns to try to represent Denmark for a second time at the Eurovision Song Contest. She won Dansk Melodi Grand Prix in 1995 with Fra Mols til Skagen and went on to finish 5th at the Eurovision Song Contest in Ireland with 92 points.

Jørgen Olsen, one half of the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest winners returns as a solo artist in 2007. The brothers stormed to victory in Stockholm with Fly on the wings of love, winning by a 40 point margin with 195 points.

Me & My will also enter the competition. The sister act of Pernille and Susanne attempted to enter the Eurovision Song Contest back in 1991, but at the time, Susanne was just 15 and ineligable to participate. They have had international hits with Dub-I-Dub and So Many Men and will be seen as early favourites for a victory at the 2007 Melodi Grand Prix.

Danni Elmo competed at this year's Melodi Grand Prix, finishing in second place behind Sidsel Ben Semmane's Twist of love with the song 2 in 1. He will be hoping to go one better this time and go onto the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki.

The Dates
Dansk Melodi Grand Prix takes place on:

  • Friday 26th January: First Semi Final at Musikteateret inHolstebro
  • Friday2nd February: Second Semi Final at the Kongress&kulturcenter in Ålborg
  • Saturday 10th February: Final at the Copenhagen Forum Horsens

The Hosts
Camilla Ottesen and Adam Duvå Hall will host the 2007 Melodi Grand Prix in Copenhagen. Camilla is know as host at the Melodi Grand Prix Kids national final for several years. She will also be known to fans of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest as the host of the show in 2003. Adam hosted last year's Melodi Grand Prix with Mads Vangsø. He and Mads also provided the Danish commentary at the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year.
