SVT’s ambition to spread geographically the shows in Sweden continues one more year. Malmö, Linköping, Gothenburg, Örnsköldsvik, Lidköpingsvägen and Stockholm are the 6 cities that will host one of the most popular music shows in Europe.
The Swedes will select their 2014 Eurovision entry and representative on March 8 at the Friends Arena in Stockholm. Friends Arena will play host to the Swedish Eurovision final ( Melodifestivalen) for a second consecutive year.
The 6 cities that will host the 2014 Melodifestivalen shows were announced in a brief release by SVT, the Swedish broadcaster on Tuesday 10 September.
“Our ambition is to have a geographical spread in towns so we are very pleased this year. It will be so fun to work with these skilled cities and venues to create a feast for both television viewers that the audience in place”, says Maria Ilstedt, project manager for Melodifestivalen 2014.
