Latvia: 2013 New Wave Festival kicks off with Eurovision stars

The annual New Wave Song festival has kicked off in Jurmala, Latvia and has a star studded line up of former Eurovision stars who will be gracing the stage this year.

The 2013 New Wave Song Festival will be running from 23-28 July in the beautiful Latvian coastal city of Jurmala. The show is aired on RTR 1 (Rossija 1) and RTR Planeta (via satellite Hotbird).  Europeans viewers can watch the event via satellite as the shows will be aired on RTR Planeta from 24-29 July and are scheduled to commence between 21.00- 22.00 CET every day. Viewers in Russia can watch them from 23-28 July on national television channel RTR 1 (Rossija 1)

Emin ( Interval act at 2012 ESC), Verka Serduchka (Ukraine 2007), Ani Lorak (Ukraine 2008), Lara Fabian ( Luxembourg 1988), Dima Bilan ( Russia 2006,2008),  Natalia Podolskaya ( Russia 2005), Toto Cotugno ( Italy 1990- host ESC 1991), Serebro ( Russia 2007), Julio Iglesias ( Spain 1970), Sergey Lazarev (Russian national final 2008), Valeria (Russian national final 2009), Intars Busulis ( Latvia 2009), Jamala (Ukrainan national final) , Il Divo and will all be gracing the occasion and treating the audience with their respective performances.

Russian superstar Sergey Lazarev will be one of the hosts of the event. He has great experience in hosting the event as he has done it for several years already.  Celebrated and famous Russian acts will be also present at the 2013 New Wave Festival: Anastasia Stotskaya , Polina Gagarina, Valery Meladze, A – Studio, Nyusha, Anastsia Stotskaya, DJ Timati, Timur Rodriguez, Valery Leontiv,Diskoteka Avaria Band, Natsya, Igor Krutoy, etc. The creme of the Russian music industry will be attending the event.

Throughout the years many former Eurovision stars have performed and participated in this musical extravanganza. The New Wave Song Festival is very popular both in Latvia and  Russia.
