RTSH, the Albanian national broadcaster has informed and confirmed to esctoday.com that Albania will participate at the forthcoming 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Denmark. The method and mechanism to select the 2014 Albanian entry will be the annual Albanian song festival- Festival I Kenges.
Esctoday.com has learned that the forthcoming edition of Festival I Kenges will be held at the end of this year. More information and details regarding the Albanian national final and plans for Eurovision 2014 will be disclosed in due course.
Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, San Marino and Belgium have all confirmed their participation at the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest having announced their plans for the forthcoming Eurovision edition. We must also add Ireland and Iceland to the list of countries that have confirmed their participation at the forthcoming 2014 Eurovision Song Contest.
Adrian Lulgjurak and Bledar Sejko represented Albania at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo with Identitet. Despite a strong and energetic performance the duo failed to qualify for the final.
Albania debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 with Anjeza Shahini and is yet to win the event. The country’s best placing at the Eurovision Song Contest has been a 5th place achieved by Rona Nishliu in 2012 in Baku.
