Lordi's stamp of honour

Finnish Rockers Lordi are set to receive a very official stamp of approval, as the Post Office plans to issue a special set of commemorative stamps featuring the faces of the band.

The new series of four Eurovision-themed stamps will feature Lordi, and be issued to coincide with the Eurovision Song Contest 2007, to be held in Helsinki next May. For band frontman Tomi Putaansuu, involvement does not stop with simply featuring on a stamp; according to the Finnish Post Group, he will be responsible for one of the designs himself.

The Post Office follow hot on the heels of the Mint of Finland, who earlier this month reported that they are planning a special collector coin in honour of Lordi and the Finnish Eurovision win. With a release also scheduled for next May, it seems that Finns are planning to honour their winners for a long time to come!
