The 12 contestants who reached the Odessa regional selection are now brought back to two. Stanislav Konkin and Kirill Turichenko will continue to the national selection, in which the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest representative of Ukraine will be chosen. Tina Karol (20) confirmed her selection in the Kyiv region herself.

Through Ti-zirka, a format similar to You're a star, eight participants have been announced officially.

Tina Karol, officially Tatjana Libermn, came fourth in the 15th semifinal last year with Mojet bi da.

Irina Rosenfeld, Natalia Volkova, Jevgenia Saharova, Daria Minejeva, Anastasiya Lushnikova and Vladimir Tkachenko already qualified, now they will be joined by Stanislav Konkin, Kirill Turichenko and Tina Karol. With three more candidates to be announced, the Ukrainian national finals will contain 12 participants.
