In complete silence, Monaco already picked its song for the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest! Head of Delegation Phil Bosco said that. Through two casting rounds a suitable performer will be chosen.

The chosen song is an up-tempo song, written by a certain J. Woodfeel. “We choose this song and the rough concept behind it, because an important record company support us on the project”, Bosco said. The producer of the song, written by is yet in charge with many known French artists.

In two castings – one in Monaco and one in Paris – the performer of the song will be chosen. An experienced casting bureau will support broadcaster TMC with their selection. A 'big name' involved in this bureau will be responsible for the casting. Bruno Berberes, French head of delegation, will collaborate with TMC on this project. The first part of the casting will take place in Paris by the end of January, the final in Monaco just after that. There will be six artists on stage; five woman and one man. The song is “sunny coloured”.

After a long period of absense, Monaco participates again since 2004. Mid-tempo song Notre planète (2004) and ballad Tout de moi (2005) came 20th and 24 in the semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest. An uptempo song has to change this negative tendency.
