United Kingdom: Sonia back on stage

Audiences across the UK will be able to see Sonia, the runner up of the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest, perform at a number of venues throughout the year.

The singer’s busy 2013 schedule kicks off tomorrow in Bognor. She will then perform a number of dates at Butlin’s holiday parks round the country.

She is also due to perform at the Rewind 80s Festival, at Scone Palace, Perthshire, Scotland on 28th July, and at the 80s Strike Back event at the Lytham Proms Festival in Lancashire on 2nd August.

Sonia represented the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 in Millstreet, Ireland. ‘I had a wonderful time at Eurovision,’ she later said of her experience. ‘There was no fear, no nerves, the camera angles were great, it went perfectly and I knew we were in with a chance.’ Her song, Better the devil you know, came second, losing to Ireland’s Niamh Kavanagh.

2nd February – Butlin’s Bognor

16th March – ‘Here and Now’, Butlin’s Bognor

8th June – Butlin’s Minehead (afternoon show)

4th October – Butlin’s Bognor

6th October – Butlin’s Skegness

18th October – Butlin’s Minehead
