RTVSLO, the Slovenian national broadcaster has informed esctoday.com that Slovenia will select their 2013 Eurovision representative and entry via an internal selection.

A special RTVSLO committee will be in charge of selecting the 2013 Slovenian entry. The Slovenian broadcaster will be revealing their deliberation on 15 February. This year Slovenia will not organize EMA, their traditional and annual national final to select their Eurovision entry due to financial reasons. Thus Slovenia will be joining neighbours Croatia, Montenegro, FYR Macedonia, all of whom have used the same method and mechanism to choose their 2013 Eurovision entry.

Slovenia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 and is yet to win the Eurovision Song Contest. The country’s best results at the contest have been in 1995 with Darja Svajger (7th) and in 2002 with Nusa Derenda (7th).
