TRT has informed Esctoday.com that a special meeting is scheduled to be held on 2 November at the TRT headquarters in Istanbul in order to discuss the best method and mechanism to select the Turkish Eurovision representative and entry in general. TRT has also clarified to Esctoday.com that this is a brainstorming meeting in order to discuss the different methods and mechanisms that can be used in order to select the Turkish Eurovision entry in the future. TRT has informed Esctoday.com that this meeting is only to discuss different ideas and not to select the 2013 Turkish Eurovision representative. It is not clear yet what mechanism will be used to select the 2013 Eurovision entry.
The director- general of TRT, former Turkish Eurovision representatives, Turkish professionals from the music industry, journalists will all be attending the meeting.
Earlier this month TRT informed Esctoday.com that with the approval of the TRT Board of Council, TRT is going to attend Eurovision Song Contest 2013. The method and mechanisn TRT will use to select its entry and reprensentative is yet to be revealed.
Turkey debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1975 with Semiha Yanki’s Seninle bir dakika. Turkey won the contest in 2003 with Sertab Erener’s Every way that I can and successfully hosted the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest on home soil in Istanbul.
