Finland’s Eurovision Song Contest 2026 representative, Pete Parkkonen, has returned home following the Grand Final in Vienna. He landed at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on Sunday evening, met with applause, and shared his thoughts on the competition.

Pete Parkkonen, who represented Finland alongside Linda Lampenius at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, received a warm reception upon his arrival back in Finland. His flight touched down at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport on Sunday evening, where he was greeted by fans and media.

Reflecting on his Eurovision journey, Parkkonen expressed his ambitions for the contest, stating:

Victory was on my mind and that’s what we aimed for.

Finland was represented by the duo Linda Lampenius and Pete Parkkonen with their song “Liekinheitin” (Flamethrower). The 70th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest took place in Vienna, Austria, with the Semi-Finals on 12 and 14 May, and the Grand Final on 16 May 2026.

The Finnish delegation, including Parkkonen, spent an intense two weeks in the Austrian capital, participating in rehearsals, press conferences, and various Eurovision events leading up to the live shows. While Parkkonen has returned to Finland, his co-performer Linda Lampenius is reportedly travelling to her home in Sweden from Vienna.

Finland has consistently aimed for strong results in recent years, and Parkkonen’s comments highlight the competitive spirit of the delegation. Fans will now look forward to what’s next for Pete Parkkonen after his Eurovision experience.

Finland was the bookies’ hot favourite to belt the Eurovision Grand Prix, but placed 6th in the competition.
