Bulgaria celebrated throughout the night after DARA’s historic victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, with emotional reactions, packed clubs and messages from the country’s highest political figures following the triumph in Vienna.

DARA brought Bulgaria Eurovision glory with Bangaranga, winning the Grand Final with a massive total of 516 points after dominating both the jury vote and the televote.

Only moments after the results were announced, social media platforms were flooded with videos showing celebrations across Bulgaria, with fans singing, dancing and partying to Bangaranga in clubs, bars and public spaces.

President Iliana Yotova: “Triumph for Bulgaria!”

President Iliana Yotova also shared an emotional public message celebrating Bulgaria’s Eurovision success.

Yotova, who became President of Bulgaria earlier in 2026 after previously serving as Vice President, congratulated both DARA and Bulgarian broadcaster BNT for what she described as a “categorical victory”.

“Triumph for DARA! Triumph for Bulgaria at Eurovision!

Rumen Radev congratulates DARA and BNT

One of the first official reactions came from Bulgarian Prime Minister Rumen Radev, who publicly praised DARA and the Bulgarian delegation following the victory.

Radev, who previously served as President of Bulgaria before becoming Prime Minister earlier this year, described the Eurovision triumph as a victory with “global impact”.

“A Bulgarian victory with global impact! That’s what DARA brought us at Eurovision.

Congratulations to the young woman who, with her talent and professionalism, overcame all the complex considerations and biases of the voting process.

DARA is yet another proof that Bulgaria can win. Congratulations to BNT and the entire team that contributed to the victory! Bulgaria looks forward to welcoming Europe and the world to Eurovision 2027!”

Bulgaria already dreaming of Eurovision 2027

The victory has instantly become one of Bulgaria’s biggest cultural moments in recent years, with discussions already beginning about where Eurovision 2027 could potentially take place.

For many Bulgarian Eurovision fans, tonight’s result also represents the culmination of years of strong Eurovision performances and growing international recognition for the country’s music industry.

DARA’s Bangaranga had already emerged as one of the standout entries of Eurovision week, building enormous momentum through rehearsals, betting odds and public reaction online.

Tonight, that momentum officially turned into Eurovision history.
