SRG-SSR, the Swiss national broadcaster, has unveiled some of the Eurovision 2025 guest acts during today’s special media event in Basel.
A special media event was held in Basel today organized by the 2025 Eurovision host broadcaster SRG-SSR in order to shed more light on the forthcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Switzerland.
An iconic line up of former Swiss Eurovision acts have been lined up to perform at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel. They will be joining forces and perfoming a special medley celebrating Switzerland’s Eurovision legacy. The following former Swiss acts will be partaking in this special medley.
- Paola (Switzerland 1969 and 1980)
- Peter of Peter, Sue & Marc (Switzerland 1971, 1976, 1979 and 1981)
- Luca Hänni (Switzerland 2019)
- Gjon’s Tears (Switzerland 2020 and 2021)
SRG-SSR’s official press release reads:
From the alphorn to the avant-garde – the ESC 2025 is bridging the gap between traditional and modern. True to the motto «United by Music», the opening and interval acts of the ESC 2025 will bring together musical genres and perspectives – with unexpected surprises and a mixture of Swiss identity and international pop culture.
A powerful homage to the Swiss ESC history was announced today in Basel as the first of many more national and international interval acts. Paola, Peter, Sue & Marc, Luca Hänni and Gjon’s Tears will come together on stage for the first time to sing a medley celebrating Switzerland’s musical ESC legacy. Tribute will also be paid to the historical moment that made all of this possible: Nemo’s impressive win in Malmö in 2024, which brought the ESC back to Switzerland.
More acts and surprises will be announced successively on the SRG and Eurovision social media channels. The detailed show concept can be found here.
More details on the ESC 2025 opening and interval acts will be unveiled in due course.
The 2025 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on the 13, 15 and 17 May at the St.Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland.
