CT, the Czech national broadcaster, has unveiled the Czech Eurovision 2025 act.

ADONXS will have the grand honour of representing Czechia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 in Basel next May.

We now have the third Eurovision 2025 act following Theo Evan (Cyprus) and Nina Zizic (Montenegro):

ADONYX aka Adam Pavlovčin is honoured to represent Czechia at Eurovision 2025:

First of all, I am really happy, participating in Eurovision has always been my big dream. At the same time, I feel a great responsibility to represent a country that has a huge history in the contest and which is my home.

ADONYX will be premiering his Eurovision entry in spring. He goes on to add:

I have visualized this moment to a large extent and for the last year I have mainly focused on creating new songs, also with the ambition of Eurovision. I applied with several options and I am happy that one of them was ultimately successful and the winning one. I can’t wait to be able to present the song to you.

Michal Utikal ( Head of Media- Czechia) says:

The candidates were first decided by a 10-member international jury consisting of 5 professionals from the field of music production and music composers, plus 5 former foreign representatives of Eurovision. The next part was quantitative research with more than 900 respondents from three foreign countries. To ratify the voting result, we conducted another research through a focus group. And ADONXS was the clear winner in all aspects.

We are all pleased that ADONXS is the winner. He has unquestionable qualities, not only in singing. He has enormous charisma, an aesthetic sense and extensive experience with live performance on stage. I think he brings everything that is needed for success in Eurovision. I dare say that there is a real possibility of attacking the final top 5 of the competition.

Ceske Televize has selected the Czech ESC 2025 act and entry via an internal selection. Ceske Televize will be broadcasting all three Eurovision 2025 shows (the two semi-finals and Grand Final) on CT 1.

About ADONYX

ADONYX is 29 years old and has gained much fame, name and recognition thanks to winning the Czech Slovak music show Superstar. His charisma, talent and great

ADONXS has gained attention for his naturally deep voice, which is a characteristic feature of his work. However, like his musical muse Orville Peck, ADONXS does not leave listeners only in the bass positions. He offers a strong stage presence, genre-varied performances, avant-garde pop style, emotional vocals and emotional ballads. The musicians who have influenced him include legends such as Queen, Depeche Mode, Elton John and Prince, as well as contemporary artists such as Troye Sivan, Mahmood, Aurora, Josef Salvat, Sufjan Stevens, Raye and Conan Gray. In 2022, he received the Singer of the Year and Musical Discovery awards from the largest Czech-Slovak radio station Evropa 2, was included in the Forbes 30 under 30 list and released his debut album Age of Adonxs.

Czechia in Eurovision

Czechia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2007 with  Kabat and is yet to win the competition. The country achieved its best result in the contest in 2018 when Mikolas Josef placed 6th in Lisbon with his song Lie to me.

The Czechs have partaken in Europe’s favorite television show 12 times, out of which they have only qualified to the Grand Final five times, namely in 2016, 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023.

The central European land locked country has not been very lucky in the competition, after three consecutive years of poor results and non-qualification the Czechs withdrew from the contest in 2010 and returned back after a 5 year hiatus in 2016.

In 2024 Czechia was represented by AIKO and her entry ‘Pedestal’.
