Benjamin’s official press release reads:
The highly anticipated new album Pink Velvet Theatre by Swedish pop phenomenon and multi-billion-streamed artist Benjamin Ingrosso is officially set to release on October 25th.
Executively produced by Vincent Pontare and Salem Al Fakir (Avicii, Katy Perry, Madonna, Sia, A$AP Rocky, Lady Gaga), Pink Velvet Theatre marks a significant creative milestone for Benjamin, who spent the past two years crafting this album amidst two summer tours and a European run. Reflecting on the project, he says: “This album has been evolving alongside my personal growth as an artist and songwriter. It’s a modern love story—like a contemporary Romeo and Juliet, only set in a dreamlike world where love blurs the line between reality and imagination.”
The album title Pink Velvet Theatre perfectly captures the mood of this surreal universe—a kaleidoscopic space filled with intense emotions and vivid imagery. Each track acts as a chapter in the protagonist’s journey, showcasing Benjamin’s distinctive blend of pop, influenced by the grandeur of old-school musicals and the timeless sounds of legends like the Bee Gees, Queen, and Elton John. The album’s soundscape is an eclectic mix of nostalgia and innovation, inviting listeners to lose themselves in a world where love is thrilling and unpredictable.
The lead single, “Back To You”, serves as the gateway into this imaginative realm. Paired with a stunning music video, “Back To You” explores the theme of returning to one’s true self after getting lost in the chaos of emotions. With its soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, the song delivers a powerful sense of yearning and reconciliation. “I wanted ‘Back To You’ to capture the essence of finding your way back to love, even when it feels like you’ve drifted too far,” Benjamin shares.
Another standout on the album is “Angela”, a song born almost spontaneously in the studio. “We were chasing a particular vibe, referencing classic hits, but nothing felt quite right. Then, after about 30 minutes, I just started singing, ‘Miss Angela darling, I’m calling on you…’ It was completely improvised!” Benjamin recalls. The track draws inspiration from ABBA’s style, infused with his own modern touch. The narrative of “Miss Angela Darling” mirrors a Peter Pan-esque tale, depicting Peter’s yearning for Wendy after she leaves Earth—a metaphorical love letter to innocence and nostalgia.
The album arrives on the heels of his recent single “All My Life”, which he debuted during a sold-out stadium show in Stockholm, marking one of the standout highlights of his ‘Better Days’ tour across Europe and Scandinavia. This tour solidified Benjamin’s position as the biggest touring artist in Sweden in 2024, further cementing his place as a powerhouse in the music industry.
Earlier this year, Benjamin’s solo releases—including the hit “Look Who’s Laughing Now”—earned a coveted spot in a seven-minute medley performance during the Eurovision Song Contest semifinals in May. This medley featured fan-favourite tracks like the Platinum-certified “Kite” and “Honey Boy”, his collaboration with German hitmaker Purple Disco Machine, the legendary Nile Rodgers, and Jamaican breakout star Shenseea.
Since its debut, “Kite” has amassed over 35 million global streams, achieving Platinum status in Sweden and receiving more than 90,000 airplays across 700 international radio stations. In February, Benjamin was honored as an ‘Apple Music Up Next Nordics’ artist, with his music gaining continued support from both Apple Music and Spotify.
With over 1 billion global streams, a collection of Gold and Platinum singles, three chart-topping albums to his name, and record-breaking sold-out tours, Benjamin Ingrosso has solidified his reputation as one of Sweden’s brightest stars.
