The Swedish singer and 2002 Estonian Eurovision contestant, Anna Sahlene, has announced today that she will be singing backing vocals for Michael Rice’s Bigger than us in Tel Aviv.
She announced the news earlier today on her Facebook page:
Anna Sahlene has a fantastic record at the Eurovision Song Contest, both as a backing singer and as a soloist. She first took to the Eurovision stage in Jerusalem in 1999 when she was a backing vocalist for the winning song, Sweden’s Charlotte Nilsson singing Take me to your heaven.
Three years later, she finished in 3rd place for Estonia on home soil in 2002 with her song Runaway. Most recently, she sung backing vocals for the jury-favourite Australian song in 2016.
Can she continue this record with the United Kingdom and Michael Rice‘s song Bigger than us? We shall see during the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 on Saturday 18 May 2019!
