Surprise surprise! News is coming in from Israel. Israeli broadcaster and organiser of the next Eurovision Song Contest KAN has confirmed the interval act of the second semi-final in Tel Aviv. Guess who?
Eurofans have been busy these days reading about details and rumours around the upcoming Grand Final of the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel. Yet they probably didn’t see this coming: the Israeli band Shalva, who at the beginning of this week was still competing in The Next Star, the Israeli national selection, has withdrawn from the competition and was confirmed as interval act of the second semi final on 16 May! How about that?

As confirmed by KAN, the Israeli band consisting of people with special needs, first withdrew from the competition last Tuesday to avoid conflicts with the Jewish Shabbat on the Friday prior to the Grand Final on the Eurovision Song Contest.
But this is not all. KAN also announced the day later that Shalva will indeed perform during the forthcoming Eurovision as an interval act of the second semi final on 16 May.
Israel in Eurovision 2019
Israel will host the Eurovision Song Contest on home soil for the third time, after the victory of Netta Barzilai in Lisbon last year with the song Toy. The national selection The Rising Star will determine the Israeli representative at the 2019 contest on 14, 16 and 18 May 2019.
