The top 2 of the five competing acts qualified for the Söngvakeppnin 2019 final, the result was decided by a combination of professional jury vote and public televoting.

Ari Ólafsson represented Iceland at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, Portugal. With his entry Our choice he unfortunately did not progress to the Grand Final, placing 19th with 15 points in Semi-Final 1.
