After a brief hiatus, Romania continued their journey to Eurovision 2019, as tonight saw the second semi-final of Selecția Națională 2019 take place. We now know all the finalist who will compete to represent Romania in Tel Aviv in May!

Tonight’s spectacle took place in the city of Arad, with 13 acts performing on stage, but only 6 qualifying for the Grand Final, which is set to be held on 17 February in Bucharest. Five of tonight’s qualifiers were decided by a jury consisting of:

  • Adi Cristescu,
  • Mihai Georgescu,
  • Crina Mardare,
  • Andy Platon and
  • Mugurel Vrabete,

A further entry was selected by the public to make up the six finalists. Below, you can see tonight’s six qualifiers:

  • Olivier Kaye – Right now
  • Letiția Moisescu & Sensibil Balkan – D A I N A
  • Laura Bretan – Dear father
  • Ester Peony – On a Sunday
  • Linda Teodosiu – Renegades
  • Aldo Blaga – Your journey (Telovoting qualifier)

Therefore, tonight we say goodbye to:

  • 2 Gents – Ielele
  • Georgy (Georgiana Saizescu) – Tears
  • Xonia – Discrete
  • TMW (The Mixy Welders) – Make me your man
  • Johnny Bădulescu – Give up now
  • Echoes – High heels on

Selecția Națională 2019 Finalists

This means we now have a complete line-up for the Romanian Nationa Final! In two weeks time, the following acts will compete for the Romanian crown and the right to represent their nation on the Eurovision stage in May. The line up is as follows:

  • Claudiu Mirea – We are the ones

The final of Selecția Națională 2019 will take place 17 February in Bucharest.
