Crash Boom Bang! Let’s move to Latvia, where another national selection is about to kick off. The first semi final of Supernova 2019 goes live tonight from Riga. How excited are you?
Last December, Latvian broadcaster LTV published the complete list of the 16 semi finalists of Supernova 2019, among which there is the Latvian representative to the Eurovision Song Contest in May this year.
The first 8 contenders that will perform tonight are:
- Aivo Oskis – Somebody’s got my lover
- Alekss Silvērs – Fireworks
- Edgars Kreilis – Cherry Absinthe
- Elza Rozentāle – You came on tiptoe
- Kris & Oz – Midnight streets
- Laime Pilnīga – Awe
- Līga Rīdere – Būšu tepat
- Samanta Tīna – Cutting the wire
Only four qualifiers
The fours acts to move on to the national final on 16 February will be decided by a mixed voting of jury and televote. As announced yesterday on this website, the jury is composed by DJ Rudd, singers Linda Leen and Ralf Eiland and radio producer Artis Dvariona.
Hosts of the night are Dagmar Legant and Ketija Schoenberg.
After having missed the qualification for the two past years, Latvia will try to curb their faith in Eurovision with the 19th entry in the history of the participation.
