C’est … Bilal Hassani à l’Eurovision! Bonsoir l’Europe, Paris calling! After a 3-week grand prix in France which was searching for the successors of Madame Monsieur on the Eurovision stage, one more participant is added to this year’s list: it’s Bilal Hassani who will defend the nation’s colours in Israel!

Following two semi-finals and 4 acts from each going straight to the final, tonight saw a total of 8 entries fighting for France’s ticket to Eurovision. The eventual result emerged by both the public’s votes as well as a 10-member international jury, consisting of people involved in the contest from 10 different European countries.

The show was hosted by Garou, while a 3-member jury panel consisting of Christophe WillemAndré Manoukian and Vitaa was present again, but without having any actual influence on the results.

Tonight’s participating acts were:

  1. Chimène Badi – Là-haut
  2. Silvàn Areg – Allez leur dire
  3. Bilal Hassani – Roi
  4. Aysat – Comme une grande
  5. Emmanuel Moire – La promesse
  6. The Divaz – La voix d’Aretha
  7. Doutson – Sois un bon fils
  8. Seemone – Tous les deux

The combined jury/public votes saw Bilal Hassani winning the overall competition with a total of 200 points. Second place went to Seemone , while Chimene Badi placed third.

But now words are enough! Time to enjoy the French 2019 Eurovision entry Roi!
