It didn’t only win the 2018 Eurovision, but also the great majority of the YouTube viewers. The victorious entry of this year’s competition, Netta’s Toy is now making the headlines, as it’s being announced as the most watched video of the official YouTube Eurovision channel!

Netta beats Lena!

According to an information video released earlier today, it is said that Netta’s music video for Toy has gathered an impressively high number of 58 million views (almost 60 million at the time of writing)! That breaks the records for a Eurovision winning entry, after Lena’s circa 57,3 million views for her 2010 Eurovision entry Satellite.

In other words and in only 2,5 months, the 2018 winning song managed to surpass the total number of views for Germany’s victorious entry, which has been counting views for 8 years!

Jessy Matador also in the battle

Another very popular music video comes also from Oslo’s 2010 competition. Despite ending up in 12th place, France’s Eurovision entry by Jessy Matador, Allez ola olé, has always been featuring among the most beloved Eurovision entries of the recent years, and is considered even today as a big summer hit.

Back in the winter, and with currently 57,8 million views, the song achieved to become the most watched Eurovision music video, a record that is now being defeated by Netta.

Israel at Eurovision 2018

After winning the Israeli artist selection competition The Next Star 2018 in February, Netta Barzilai (stage name Netta) was announced as the representative of her native country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, which was held in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon. Her Eurovision entry Toy, composed by Doron Medalie and Stav Beger, was unveiled later in March.

Having been the hot favourite for the victory since the first days of her song’s release, Netta finally confirmed the predictions and ended up 1st, bringing home her country’s 4th Eurovision trophy. At the Grand Final of the 63rd Eurovision Song Contest, Israel came 3rd with the national juries and 1st with the televoting, winning the overall competition with a total of 529 points.
