A dream is coming true for Dutch Eurovision 2005 representative Glennis Grace: she will partake in America’s Got Talent! To boot, she has recently released her latest single Walk on water.

Following the American Dream

Dutch singer Glennis Grace has always kept faith in her impossible dream, and now can proudly say that dreams may come true and everything is possible: the artist has auditioned for the immensely popular TV-show America’s Got Talent in the United States.

Glennis shared the news on her Facebook-page:

It’s been so hard to keep this a secret, but now I can tell you. I AUDITIONED on @AGT! Now, who’s ready for the season premiere on May 29?! #AGT

In the TV-show RTL Late Night, Glennis explained that she was chosen to participate in AGT after the show’s team saw a video of her performance with the Ladies Of Soul:

They have a whole team of people that searches on YouTube for talent. This video has been watched so many times that it was high on YouTube’s list. And so they contacted my management in America.

The artist is thrilled with this opportunity, although she was also apprehensive:

I took at least a month to think about it. In the first instance I immediately said ‘no’. I can really be a chicken. I have always aspired a career abroad, that’s true. But to stand in front of such a jury… That’s terrifying.

Nevertheless, Glennis rose to the challenge and auditioned for AGT. She cannot say if she made it to the next round, although she said with a big smile:

Anything can happen.

The new season of America’s Got Talent, hosted by Tyra Banks and featuring celebrity judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel, premieres on 28 May on NBC.

Walk On Water

Meanwhile, Glennis Grace has also released her latest single, titled Walk on water. A smooth mid-tempo composition about a wayward relationship, Glennis describes the song:

It’s just another love song, but in a certain kinda way though. I think my fans will love it!

The song was recorded in Atlanta, the United States. It was produced by Courtney “BLAQSMURPH” Dwight, written by Courtney Dwight, Dena Kelson and Netta Finley:

At Eurovision

Glennis Grace (born Glenda Batta, Amsterdam, 1978) represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 in Kyiv, Ukraine.

With her powerful ballad My impossible dream she unfortunately did not go through to the Grand Final, placing 14th out of 25 contestants in the semi-final, with 53 points.

After Eurovision, Glennis Grace worked diligently on her career. She successfully ventured into Dutch language music, besides staying true to her soulful roots as part of the popular supergroup Ladies Of Soul, alongside former Eurovision representatives Edsilia Rombley and Trijntje Oosterhuis, among others.
