Broadcaster SVT has revealed that Edward af Sillén and singer Sanna Nielsen will be Sweden’s commentators for the ESC 2018. Melodifestivalen 2018 runner-up Felix Sandman is set to deliver the country’s votes.

The commentators

Screenwriter, stage director and Eurovision enthusiast Edward af Sillén will be Sweden’s commentator for the ESC 2018 in Lisbon alongside artist Sanna Nielsen, who herself partook in Eurovision 2014. It will be the second time the duo will provide the commentary for Eurovision together, following the 2015 edition in Vienna, Austria.

Edward af Sillén has delivered the commentary for the contest several times, including the 2017 edition together with 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw. He is a great fan of the contest himself, and has also professionally been involved with Eurovision, including as director and screenwriter. Edward af Sillén has furthermore been involved with Sweden’s selection Melodifestivalen.

He says:

We have a thrilling Eurovision ahead of us this year. Many favourites in advance and a very strong contribution from Sweden. This can be a riot. Commenting on Eurovision is a highlight of the year, and to do it again with Sanna is a dream.

Sanna Nielsen is a beloved Swedish singer and TV-host. Having participated in Melodifestivalen various times, she won the 2014 edition and subsequently represented Sweden at Eurovision 2014 in Copenhagen, ultimately reaching an honourable 3rd place in the Grand Final with her entry Undo.

The artist stated:

I was so happy when I was asked to comment with Edward again. He loves the competition and the last time we commented on Eurovision together, Sweden also won.
