The last weekly show of the Ukrainian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 was aired today on NTU. Hot favourite Jamala together with Denis Povaliy and Tanya Vorzheva qualified for the further stages of the competition.
After being the last country to select their entry for this year's Eurovision Song Contest, the Ukraine started their process for choosing its 2011 contestant earlier than expected in order to avoid any scandal. Starting with October 21, five weeklyheats were aired by their national television. The last show was broadcasted today and three more acts qualified for the further stages of the national selection process :
- Jamala – Smile
- Denis Povaliy – Aces high
- Tanya Vorzheva – Vsë resheno
This is how the line-up for the final is looking like :
The national final in Ukraine is scheduled to be held on February 27th.
Ukraine is one of the most succesful countries of the last Eurovision decade as it has never missed a final and placed five out of eight appearances in the top 10. Their best result is the victory achieved by Ruslana and her Wild dances back in 2004.
