Tonight Norway will decide on their 2018 Eurovision Song Contest entry.

The show will take place tonight at the Oslo Spektrum, and will be hosted by Kåre Magnus Bergh and Silya Nymoen. Silya took place in Melodi Grand Prix 2012, performing her own song and having written one for another competitor.

Tonight’s contestants

Ten songs will compete in tonight’s show for the right to represent Norway in Lisbon.

The show features three past Norwegian representatives. Stella Mwangi represented Norway in 2011 with Haba haba, but failed to make the final. Aleksander Walmann took part last year for Norway with the song Grab the moment. Most notably of all, Alexander Rybak, the Norwegian winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 is competing again.

Norway has been drawn to compete in the first half of the second semi final at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.

Who will go to Lisbon for Norway?


Eleanor (or Ellie), is 26 years old, is from Exeter in the UK. She combines motherhood with studying linguistics. Ellie was first allowed to stay up and watch the Eurovision Song Contest aged 5 in 1999, but really fell in love with it after the Athens 2006 contest. Big key changes and dramatic stage shows are an absolute must! Ellie has also written an A* academic dissertation on the cultural history of Eurovision.
