Hello Europe and Australia! Tonight we are going to travel high in the Atlantic Ocean, as Iceland is all set to pick up their 2018 Eurovision hopeful! A total of 6 acts, all qualified from the two semi-final rounds will fight for the coveted Eurovision ticket, but only one spot is available.

How to watch

The Grand Final of the Icelandic national selection Söngvakeppnin 2018 starts at 20:45 CET (19:45 local time), live from Reykjavik’s Laugardalshöll arena and you may watch it via:

The show’s presenters will be the former Miss Iceland and actress Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir, as well as Jón Jónsson and Björg Magnúsdóttir.

As previously reported, the 2013 Eurovision winner Emmelie de Forest and last year’s Melodifestivalen winner and Swedish Eurovision entrant Robin Bengtsson will attend and perform on the show’s stage.

The final winner of the event is obliged to perform the Icelandic entry in the language that is going to use tonight, on the stage of Lisbon. Besides the right of representing the nation at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018, the latter will earn a money prize of 3 million ISK (approx. 24,210 EUR). The result will emerge by 100% televoting. Iceland will take part in the 1st half of the first semi-final at Lisbon’s Altice Arena, on 8 May.
