The pre-selection of Selecția Națională – in which all the songs included in this year’s Romanian national selection are presented – will be broadcast for the first time on TVR 1 on the 12, 13 and 14 of January, at 21:00 local time.
Romania decided this year to bring something new to their Selecția Națională project for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.
For competitors, the road to Lisbon is filled with filming, rehearsing and a lot of emotions at all stages of the competition: pre-selection, the five semi-finals and the grand final.
At the pre-selection, the artists were invited to Studio 2 of TVR to debut their live performances in front of the jury and the cameras. During the five semi-finals, the jury will decide the 15 tracks that will enter Romanian final.
Special shows to air from tonight
We will watch the bidding Romanian artists and their initial auditions in the series of programmes prepared by the country’s Eurovision team starting Friday 12 January, in the preamble of the national selection semi-finals.
Over the course of three days, we will listen to the songs and we will find out for the first time the impressions of the jury and their statements during the auditions.
The Eurovision Song Contests will be held in Focșani (21 January), Timișoara (28 January), Craiova (4 February), Turda (11 February) and Sighișoara (18 February).
The organisers have set the semi-finals distribution of the 60 pieces; each semi-final will have 12 songs.
