The Next Star returns in Israel this evening for the seventeenth show of the country’s national selection for the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

In a shorter episode, tonight will see a further 3 artists auditioning for one of the few places left in the next stage of The Next Star, Israel’s national selection process for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

The show

Assi Azar and Rotem Sela return to host tonight’s episode of The Next Star, as the country’s Eurovision 2018 search continues into its 17th show.

All of tonight’s artists will be auditioning to both the audience and 4-member jury panel, hoping to earn their votes and qualify to the next stage of the competition.

Bidding artists will need to receive 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote in order to advance in the selection, with a maximum of 40% coming from the jury panel (10% from each member).

If an artist fails to receive the votes needed, they still have one final chance of proceed in the selection, as the 2 hosts of the selection will be given the chance to ‘Save’ the artist.
