The sixteenth heat of this year’s long-term Israeli national selection process is now over and its results are in! As we are approaching the end of the show’s first round, tonight saw a total of 4 auditionees qualifying to the next stage.

Each candidate needs a minimum 70% ‘Yes’ score in order to progress to the next round, which is offered by both the show’s judging panel as well as the televoting procedure.

The jury’s 4 members are Static & Ben-El Tavori, Keren Peles, Harel Skaat and Assaf Amdursky, each having a 10% say at the final outcome.

Who will be back in the show?

Making it through tonight’s audition stage are the following artists:

  • Tangier (49%*, ‘Yes’ vote from 1 judge)
  • Michael Kobrin (87%, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)
  • Nofar Haber (72%, ‘Yes’ from 2 judges)
  • Shusha Mansour (68%*, ‘Yes’ from all 4 judges)

*Whilst both Tangier and Shusha Mansour received under the asking 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote, a new twist in the show saw the 2 hosts, Assi Azar and Rotem Sela, save the artist and therefore advance to the next stage.

Unfortunately, Dudi Atar and Benny received a lower than 70% percentage; therefore, they are leaving the national selection at this point.

Receiving the highest score of the night was the singer Michael Kobrin, who is progressing with 87% and a ‘Yes’ vote from all 4 judges. Here you may watch his stage performance:
