Austria’s girl is back! ZOË, who represented her country at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest sees the release of her brand new album The acoustic sessions. This marks her 2nd personal release, after unveiling her very first album, Debut in 2015.
ZOË’s polyglot album on the move
The album consists of 13 songs with lyrics in English, French and German, all in live acoustic sessions, as also evidenced by the album title. Through her work, ZOË has shown her love for writing and singing in French, as she has also done with her Eurovision entry Loin d’ici. However and according to some of her recent words, it was time to try herself in something different.
Regarding the creation and release of The acoustic sessions album, she had the following words to say:
The idea of recording an acoustic album, was a very spontaneous one. I’m extremely thrilled, that I now had the opportunity to show this very intimate aspect of my music, that one can usually only experience during a live concert, since the whole album is played and sung in live acoustic sessions. What was very exciting about the live-recordings in the studio, was that only the moment counted, since we knew that we wouldn’t and couldn’t change anything afterwards. With this album the listener can experience our nightly music sessions at close quarters.
The album is now available in all streaming- and download-stores. Here you may listen to it via Spotify:
Could this be a future trend?
The acoustic sessions and ZOË are introducing a really innovative action that could be beneficial for both artists and fans. On the first day of the album’s release, the singer gave her audience the opportunity to become part of it, as they may become shareholders of Show me something, her album’s 1st song via her record label’s website www.globalrockstar.com.
To the great pleasure of the creators, all shares were rapidly sold out and afterwards the 2nd single Heartbreaker looked for its shareholders! Every investor is going to receive percentage profits for both the acoustic and the radio version of the song, which will be produced once the funding goal is reached.

This is a really exciting innovation. For the first time, fans can really be a part of a song. My new songs really mean a lot me and I am so happy that people who like my music, can now become a part of it.
ZOË at Eurovision 2016
ZOË has competed twice in the Austrian Eurovision heats, namely in 2015 with Quel Filou and placed 2nd and in 2016 with Loin d’ici (placing 1st), both times singing in French.
