It’s Monday and it’s time for yet another episode of Israel’s The Next Star, searching for the country’s next representative at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

Auditions continue yet again in The Next Star, with bidding artists from across the country performing for the possible right of representing the nation at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in the host city of Lisbon.

The Next Star 2018 will air this evening at 20:00 CET (21:00 local time) on the following channels:

The show

The Next Star returns this evening for the next audition show of the fifth season, in which performers are looking to advance in the contest.

Artists not only have to impress the 4-member jury panel, but they must also impress the viewing audience in order to gain at least 70% of the ‘Yes’ vote needed to qualify. A possible 40% of the ‘Yes’ vote can come from the jury.

If an artist fails to receive the 70% needed, there may still be a chance of proceeding in the competition as the 2 hosts of the show, Assi Azar and Rotem Sela, have the opportunity to ‘Save’ an artist they believe should get a second chance.

Tonight’s show is significantly shorter, only running for a total of 30 minutes.
