As the long Israeli selection process for Eurovision 2018, The Next Star series is continuing, the 7th show of The Next Star series is about to take place tonight. So it’s time we found out who are going to be the next participants who will make to the show’s next stage.

So far, there are 29 artists who are already in the running for the Israeli 2018 representation. Last week saw a total of 9 hopefuls qualifying to the next round, bringing themselves one step closer to the golden Eurovision ticket.

How to watch

The Next Star 2018 is going to air this evening at 20:00 CET (21:00 local time) on the following channels:

About the show

The Next Star sees every week artists from all over Israel auditioning in front of the TV audience and a judging panel consisting of 4 members:

• Static & Ben-El Tavori: Israeli musical pop group
• Keren Peles: Israeli singer-songwriter, poetess and a pianist
• Harel Skaat: Israel singer-songwriter; former representative at Eurovision 2010
• Assaf Amdursky: Israeli singer, songwriter and music producer

Both the audience and the judging panel have a say on whether each act is eligible to proceed to the show’s next stage. At least a 70% of the ‘Yes’ votes is required for an artist to do so, with up to a 60% stake coming from the audience and up to 40% from the jury members.

The hosts of the show are the TV presenter Assi Azar and the Israeli actress Rotem Sala.
