Tonight, the first semi final of O melodie pentru Europa, the Moldovan national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 was held. 15 acts competed and the top seven were chosen to progress to the national final.

The following seven acts will compete in the national final on 6th March:

• Doinita Gherman – Meloterapia
• Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira – Run away
• Millenium – Before you go
• Dyma – Manipulate
• Eugen Doibani – Love sweet love
• Monkey Mind & Daniela – Smile
• Carolina Gorun – Addicted

This was the first of two semi finals. Another 15 acts will compete in the second semi final tomorrow.

The esctoday.com poll voters widely agreed with the results as the poll top four all qualified for the final: Sunstroke Project & Olia Tira (24.2%), Millenium (20.9%), Dyma (11.0%) and Monkey Mind & Daniela (9.9%).

In 2009, Moldova was represented by Nelly Ciobanu, who finished fifth in the second semi final and 14th in the final with the song Hora din Moldova. In 2010, the country will compete in the first semi final of the Eurovision Song Contest on 25th May.
