SVT, Sweden's national broadcaster responsible for Melodifestivalen, the country's Eurovision Song Contest selection show has released clips of the eight songs competing in the last semi final this weekend in Malmo. Two song clips leaked via a Yahoo chat group late on Saturday night and the broadcaster has taken action to ensure the songs do not get an unfair advantage.
SVT have published clips of the last eight songs competiting at the Malmo semi final on Saturday 27th February following a leak of the songs by Sibel and Peter Jöback late on Saturday night through a Yahoo chat group. The songs are available to listen to here.
Following the leak of the songs Stop and Hollow, which appears to have occurred after someone managed to reach the SVT server storing the files and downloaded them, SVT has devided to ensure that all eight song clips are available to prevent any entries from receiving an unfair advantage.
SVT has found that no record companies or publishers were involved in the leak and that the file leak came directly from SVT equipment. The regular radio show presenting the songs on Friday will go ahead as scheduled. There is no word as yet as to whether SVT will take action against those who leaked the song files to the public domain.
