Candan Erçetin, who was a member of the group called 'Klips ve Onlar', the group which represented Turkey in 1986 Eurovision Song Contest with their song 'Halley' in Bergen, has released her first album in French titled 'Candan Erçetin Chante Hier Pour Aujourd'hui'.
Remember “Halley” by Klips ve Onlar from the 1986 contest in Bergen? When they got the ninth place in that year's contest, that was Turkey's best result until that day and the entire country was thrilled.
Well one of the members of that group is now very popular in her own country! Yesterday's Eurovision artist Candan Erçetin is so popular in her own country today, that she has already released 4 albums and now she released her 5th album…this time entirely in French!
About her album Erçetin says: 'I have never lived in France and I've met “French Chanson” while I was in highschool…I feel very lucky because I can interpret the songs, with which I was in love once, from a different perspective…Besides everybody else, who helped me make this dream come true, I also would like to thank my French teacher Mme. Erard for teaching me how to properly pronounce this language'.
Erçetin said that she would donate some of the proceedings from her this particular album to her former highschool.
