Slavko Kalezić – one of the most memorable acts from the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest – made his return to our television screens this evening following his audition on the UK version of The X Factor! But did the Montenegrin artist progress to the next stage of the competition?
Four months on from the Kyiv-hosted 62nd Eurovision Song Contest and Montenegro’s Slavko Kalezić is back looking for his next big break, this time through the British version of The X Factor.
Despite not qualifying to the final of Eurovision 2017 back in May, Kalezić’s majestic braid-featuring performance became one of the most talked-about moments of this year’s competition, in which the Montenegrin performer went on to gain a wide fanbase across the continent and beyond.
Pushing forward with his widening European music career, Kalezić’s latest move has seen the star travelling to the United Kingdom in order to audition for the latest edition of The X Factor UK.
Soaring through to bootcamp?
Filmed back in July, Kalezić’s audition took place at Tobacco Dock in London, in which the Montenegrin singer auditioned in front of the returning judges in the fourteenth series of the competition: Louis Walsh, Sharon Osbourne, Nicole Scherzinger and Simon Cowell.
Returning following an invite from Walsh back in Ukraine, Kalezić took to the audition room and performed a song of his choice; End of time by Beyoncé. Check out his performance below!
The Montenegrin artist caused plenty of discussion amongst the judges following his creative audition, with comments including ‘I can honestly say I have never seen or heard anything like this’ from Cowell and ‘you’re not the best singer in the world but you’re a great performer’ from Walsh, as well as being described as Nicole’s ‘inner-diva’.
But how did Kalezić fare with the judges? Well this is only the first we’ve seen of our Space-singer as Kalezić received a total of 4 yeses in the audition round of the competition, therefore qualifying to the next stage, bootcamp, taking place at The SSE Arena in Wembley, London.
Following Kalezić’s audition this evening, viewers reacted to the Montenegrin’s performance, receiving a wide variety of comments and opinions, some of which include:
