Croatia: Jacques Houdek is flying to Kyiv!

HRT, the Croatian national broadcaster has announced today that Jacques Houdek has been internally selected to represent Croatia at the forthcoming 2017 Eurovision Song Contest next May.

Jacques Houdek is no new face in the Eurovision world as he has tried to represent Croatia several times before namely in 2011 when he partook in the Croatian national final. This time he has been selected internally in order to fly the Croatian flag in Kyiv. HRT will be revealing more details and information on the 2017 Croatian Eurovision entry and project in due course.

Jacques is pleased and honored to represent Croatia at the upcoming Eurovision edition. He has taken part many in the Croatian Eurovision national selection Dora. He enjoys much fame and recognition in his homeland thanks to his musical career and his involvement in the Croatian version of The Voice.

Jaques Houdek says:

I am extremely happy and thank Croatian Radio and Television for the trust they have shown. Being a representative of Croatia at the Eurovision Song Contest is a big honour for me and I’m grateful for the opportunity.

 

Croatia debuted at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1993 and is yet to win the competition, the country achieved its best result in the contest in 1996 and 1999 when it placed 4th.

Croatia will compete in Second Semi-final of the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest on 11 May in Ukraine.

The Eurovision 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is scheduled to be held on 9, 11 and 13 May at the IEC in Kyiv
