The last couple of months, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Mel B have been cooking some new stuff in the studio for the upcoming 20th anniversary of the legendary girl group Spice Girls. A new song reportedly by the 3 out of 5 Spice Girls, has leaked online and #Eurovision fans didn’t miss the chance to link it with Eurovision.

Eurovision UK! Bring it on

It’s not a secret that the UK has a Eurovision success inversely proportional to the country’s international music industry. BBC made strong efforts to bring huge names to the Eurovision stage in the past, but with no great success as proven by the final votes.

And then it was Spice Girls… or better GEM… Seriously?

GEM refers to Geri, Emma and MelB, leaving out MelC and Victoria from Spice Girls. GEM have been working secretly on their new tunes and then the Song for her leaked online. The song lasts around 3 minutes. Doing the Eurovision math, a 3 minute leaked song is enough evidence to start a fire so that everyone will think that GEM will go to Eurovision for the United Kingdom.

Hold on a second please!

The song has been around the web for few days and you may listen to it below. I’m listening to it on repeat all afternoon long and I just don’t get it. Is this the song that could win Eurovision? Are you sure? Is this the 2017 tune that the British music industry has to offer?

I’m a 90’s kid and Spice Girls have marked those days… Oh those days, but noooo. I would be THE happiest person to see Spice Girls on Eurovision stage, but if we’re talking about winning the contest, this is not the song.
May I remind you some worldwide stars that stepped on to the Eurovision stage and we don’t even remember their participation? Las Ketchup? BLUE? t.A.T.u?

Needless to say more, I could easily see a victory for the UK with singers like Jessie J, Adele or even Leona Lewis (yeah)…
