The first 4 countries taking to the stage this morning are Slovenia, Bulgaria, Denmark and Ukraine followed by an hour long break. The last acts from the remaining 4 semi-final 2 participants will take place in the afternoon. A first impression of each of today’s performances will be uploaded via the official Eurovision YouTube channel.

11 Slovenia: ManuElla – Blue and red

First to take to the Eurovision stage this morning is ManuElla, wearing a long white dress in the arena. Entering the stage, ManuElla’s performance begins with a single spotlight focusing on the singer herself with no one else on stage. As the tempo changes, ManuElla is joined on stage by an acrobat who swings across the stage. To fit with the song, the staging lights up in blue and red colours featuring ManuElla’s face on the backing LED screens, with pyrotechnics and wind machines closing the performance.

12 Bulgaria: Poli Genova – If love was a crime

A performance filled with LED screens, lights and strong choreography comes from Bulgaria’s Poli Genova this morning. Wearing a futuristic-designed outfit with LED lights applied around it, Bulgaria’s stage performance heavily features black and white in both the staging and outfit, including a pulsating effect on the backing LED screens. Towards the latter part of the performance, Poli is joined by a total of 5 backing vocalists.

13 Denmark: Lighthouse X – Soldiers of love

After a few technical difficulties at the start, Denmark’s first rehearsal with Lighthouse X got underway at the Globe Arena. Plenty of white spotlights fill the entire stage and shine throughout the Danish performance, not too dissimilar to their national final staging for DMGP. As well as spotlights around the stage, small lights have been attached to each of the band member’s microphone stands. Towards the latter part of the performance, the 3 band members move from the centre of the stage towards the catwalk; pyrotechnics feature at the end of the performance where the song ends.

14 Ukraine: Jamala – 1944

This morning’s rehearsals conclude with Jamala from Ukraine, entering the arena wearing a long black dress. Starting with a single spotlight focusing directly onto Jamala, red and gold colours fill the arena during Jamala’s performance as the power builds in the song. At points, cracks fill the floor of the stage revealing a glowing gold light. A strong vocal performance from Jamala in today’s rehearsal.

From 13:40 CEST, the representatives from Norway, Georgia, Albania and Belgium will embark on their first rehearsals on the Eurovision stage where they will get to test everything stage and choreography related.
